C-The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

C- Control was an anime created in 2011 directed by Kenji Nakamura and written by Noboru Takagi. This anime follows Kimimaro Yoga, a college student, who just like anyone else wants to live a stable ordinary life, and is learning how hard it is to make money. Early on Kimimaro is approached with a question, if you were given the choice to earn large sums of money every week in exchange for your future to become collateral would you take it?
This anime largely specifies how people view their money and how desperate they are to acquire it. Kimimoro is still just a young adult who, like many oblivious people, will be drawn into the world of the Financial District where he will make deals to obtain the Minus Money he needs to survive inside and out of the Financial District.
At first glance Kimimoro Yoga is your typical college student. He works hard in his academics and is kind hearted with only one or two friends as well as a part time job to help pay for school. Kimimoro also lacks the confidence that a son would only learn from his father who left him at a young age. Now living with his grandmother he strives for his goal of a simple and stable life.
Accompanying Kimimaro in the Financial District is his Asset Msyu, who acts more human like than most Assets. An Assets exists in a card you are given upon entering the Financial District, almost like a credit card. They are what you use to battle in deals you make with other members. If you win your funding’s grow, if you loose, the bank and your opponent get your money and then you learn who really has all the power.
C- Control lets you explore a world where money is everything, not too different from our own. In real life money controls almost everything and C- Control just lets you view this concept in a more extravagant way. It exercises the phrase “slave to the mighty dollar.” If you loose all of your funding in the Financial District while fighting in a deal your life essentially falls apart in the real world transcending to your real loss. Whoever has the money has the power right?

What I love about this anime is that in such a short time you get to watch Kimimaro grow into someone who stands up for what he believes in. It’s all about the choices you make and the people you trust as you grow that will depend on how your future turns out and if you can make the right choices yourself. Kimimaro has the pleasure of learning how to make choices the hard way and it is what makes him such an intriguing character. Though this is a short series it is full of intense battles to decide the fate of its’ characters and will keep you glued to the screen.

Kamisama Hajimemashita ( Kamisama Kiss )

Akitarou Daichi has directed his share of romance series such “Fruits Basket”, “Kodocha” and “Bokura ga Ita”. One romance that stands out to me is the anime “Kamisama Hajimemashita”. It’s not just pure romance and two beings falling in love. In the first episode you have to endure the hardship the main character goes through and really find out how hard life is for her. The series is full of energy and there’s something different around every corner. It perfectly balanced the relationship between the two characters and never drags the story. The jokes are never outdone and are always timed perfectly. Rather than the characters falling in love right away, they have to work for their relationship and really overcome some personal hardship.
One think I adore about our main character Nanami Momozono is how she is so incredibly hard working, when she wants something she goes after it and somehow always proves her worth. She’s stubborn and can be over dramatic especially when it comes to her familiar Tomoe. Tomoe can be insensitive, strong headed, and has an almost mocking demeanor. Together they are almost complete opposites and that makes them the pride of this anime.
This isn’t an anime where you have to think hard about the story line. It’s very basic with simple characters. Although the episodes and characters aren’t as eccentric and broad as other romance series, its’ simplicity makes it enjoyable because it is never overdone. This anime is short, sweet, and to the point but also exceeded my expectations for it. Not many short series are able to be so simple and as well put together as this one.
The only recommendation I would have is that the character development could have been better. As much as I enjoyed the characters and their perfectly timed humor, I would have loved to see them grow a bit more and have more added to them as the series went on.
This series is also available in Manga at your local Books A Million or can be found on Amazon with the DVD package to the first season.

WOLF CHILDREN

We have seen so many amazing movies and TV shows from the astounding director Mamoru Hosoda. In the past he has directed the movie “One Piece: Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island (2005), The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006), and Summer Wars (2009). One of his more recent masterpieces is “Wolf Children” which was released in 2012. Just looking at a poster of the movie or it’s cover can give you a good idea about what this movie has in store, but the impact it leaves after watching it is so much greater.
The movie follows a young nineteen-year-old girl in college named Hana who has a small apartment and a part time job. She meets a young man who sneaks into her classes for lectures. Gradually, she falls in love with him and he reveals to her his true identity as a wolf man and the last of his kind. Not discouraged by that fact they start a life together and a family. They have a daughter named Yuki and a younger son named Ame. The rest of the movie follows Hana as she becomes a single mother and needs to care for her young wolf children.
Single mothers are often viewed as strong, independent and hard workers. This in every way describes Hana. She is unable to tell anyone that her children are half wolf, so other than the company of her young pups, she leads a lonely life almost treating it as a guessing game because she has no idea how to raise them as wolves.
When I watched this movie it brought about all sorts of emotions. You watch the two wolf children, Yuki and Ame, grow up and face an assortment of challenges you might face growing up like trying to make friends and do well in school. Watching that reminded me of the emotions I went through on my first day of school and meeting dozens of new faces. Then the two have the challenge no one else their age will face, learning to live with their secret identity of being a half wolf along with making the choice of which identity they choose when they get older, being a wolf or being human. All their mother can do it support them and offer the guidance she can along the way.

Hana does all she can and is the picture of a strong-hearted woman who always smiles, even when life gets rough. Watching this movie, your heart goes out to Hana and your rooting her on every step of the way. This is such an amazing heartfelt film that captivates its’ viewers as you enter the lives of an unusual but unique family.

That's all for today!

Fairy Tail

Hello readers!

I recently finished an ongoing anime series called Fairy Tail and I have to say, it was nowhere near a disappointment. The series captivates you with its’ hilarious dialog and you almost never know anymore information about what is going on than any of the other characters know so each episode you learn with them. Episode after episode keeps you wondering what will happen next and is consistently bringing you back for more. I was first introduced to the series while exploring YouTube. I had stumbled upon the movie “Fairy Tail The Movie: The Phoenix Priestess”. The title itself sparked interest in me and from there on I set off to watch the rest of the searies.
The first episode begins in the Kingdom of Fiore with seventeen year old Lucy Heatfilia, a celestial wizard who is kind hearted, a little clumsy, and a bit of a noob when it comes to magic. She sets out to join the wizard guild Fairy Tail that is based in the town of Magnolia and is full of free spirited wizards like Natsu Dragneel, the dragon slaying wizard and son of the infamous dragon Igneel, and his partner Happy, who is ultimately the cutest flying cat you'll ever see. Through out each season you not only meet new wizards with their own individual type of magic and explore different guilds around the kingdom, you learn the backstories of our main characters from the Fairy Tail Guild and episode-by-episode they face each of their individual problems not only as a guild, but also as a family.
This series has always put me on the edge of my seat always finding myself with the feeling that at one point my favorite characters are doomed, but I always find myself surprised when they find the most clever ways to get out of the deepest and darkest situation. Whenever it seemed as if there was no hope, they never give up and always strive to “live on”. The reason I love to watch anime’s so much is that sometimes a character you grow to love doesn’t survive and it teaches you that not everyone is invincible. The series “Fairy Tail” has taught me a different lesson. If at one point a character thinks that they need to sacrifice their life to protect their friends or for someone else’s happiness you can always count on Natsu Dragneel to stop them and make sure they remember that they need to “live on”. He has consistently said throughout the series “We need to live on. Not just for ourselves, but for our friends”. Natsu teaches us that we don’t always need to sacrifice our lives, happiness, or well being for the sake of others. The mistakes people make do not define them. “We need to live on” and redeem ourselves through the actions and choices we make there on out.
As I continue to watch the anime I have only begun to read the manga made by the brilliant Hiro Mashima. I look forward to finishing the series and am excited for the anime to continue. If you have the time I highly recommend watching all of the episodes. For all the manga readers and anime watchers out there you will not be disappointed.

About my blog!

Hello everyone!

My name is Takizawa and I am the Air King! A little back round for this blog is that it was started on a website called Telenya.com. The website was for anyone and everyone who loved anime, gaming, and manga. It was basically Facebook for people with a common interest all in one place. I blog reviews on shows and movies in different genres of anime. The downside of blogging on that website was that only members could view the posts so I made the deception to make my blog go public and accessible to everyone. I take suggestions on different series and movies that I could watch and love to broaden the horizon on shows for all of my readers! I will be posting on shows that I had blogged on already just to keep up to date with everything and remain consistent. My goal is to provide all my readers with a range on new shows or movies they could watch and maybe enjoy them as much as I have. I'm excited to finally start up this blog and I'll be posting very soon!
